Guardian, the world’s largest independent height safety brand, is pleased to announce a new UK partnership with CDDL Recycling to handle all its waste, strengthening Guardian’s commitment to safeguard the environment.

Mike Cox, UK Supply Chain & Procurement Manager at Guardian, explained, “our product line is very diverse, and it is particularly encouraging that CDDL can handle all our needs from webbing, plastics, metals, PC/ABS, cardboard, wood and general waste.  Our safety products are often made from high-grade, virgin materials, and it is important that we see those reduced or reused whenever possible”

Managing Director at CDDL, Tony Hughes, says, “we have a 100% landfill diversion policy – everything we touch is donated, recycled or used for energy recovery. We provide all the supporting certificates and documentation around where and how the items have been recycled to provide Guardian complete transparency. Partnering with Guardian to ensure excess or waste materials are handled properly is a positive step forward to reduce environmental impacts."

Guardian is proud that this partnership will also benefit its end-to-end supply chain and help align with their key customer partner goals. For example, in the UK rental channel many of Guardian’s products are used for fleet rental.  Fall arrest blocks, of various types and lengths are typical of the Guardian products rented out for their recommended life span to help users work in compliance and safety at height. Guardian is uniquely willing to support changeovers with the fleet and can ensure that retired products are fully recycled, and the materials will be reused.

Guardian’s International Head of Sales & Services Peter Styth comments, “It is important that our UK partners understand that it is not just new product designs that we value as innovation, but any new ideas and partnerships that solve problems and help improve the environment.”

Head of Rental, Lifting & Customer Service, Rosie Webb says, “I am pleased that we can now offer this kind of transparency to our customer base.  Most of our product range is designed, tested and made in the UK.  It is wonderful to see this circular approach installed at Guardian with CDDL who are also local to Kent.  Guardian prides itself on simplifying height safety and this is another great example of how we do that for ourselves and our key partners.”
