The aim of this course is to provide individuals with the necessary skills through theoretical and practical training to rescue a casualty from a Tower Crane on a construction site to a safe area.

OVERVIEW

Price Per Person: £180.00 + VAT

Duration: 1 Day (2 day for jib rescue)

Trainer to Delegate Ratio: 1:6

Location: On-Site (use of tower crane required)

Certificate Validity: 2 Years

A course designed to provide the individual with the practical skills and confidence to rescue fellow workers from tower cranes.  Rescues carried out on access routes to the cab, from the cab itself and surrounding platform area down to a safe location for first aid and handover to emergency services.

A further 1 day's training can be added to include rescue from the crane jib.

The course is delivered on site, providing real time training on actual cranes in a construction setting. 

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the need for on-site rescue support
  • Explain the process for the rescue of a crane driver from common work areas
  • Understand the technical aspects and inspection process for the chosen rescue system
  • Conduct a pre-use inspection of the rescue system
  • Recognise the hazards involved in accessing different areas of the crane to mount a rescue
  • Successfully set up the rescue system and conduct rescues from:
    • Access route to cab
    • Crane cab
    • Platform around crane cab
    • Work areas including jib (2-day course)
    • Use tag lines/slack cableways to direct casualty lower away from the vertical

Participants Will Receive:

  • Certificate lasting 2 years
  • Direct support from the Guardian training team and Guardian Fall customer service

Important Information:

Health:

All personnel participating in Safety Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. Delegates will be required to sign a statement stating that they are medically fit to participate in safety training and that they do not suffer from any medical illness or are under the influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol.

Equipment:

  • Suitable clothing for outdoor training at height
  • Safety Boots
  • Helmet
  • Gloves
  • Any work at height PPE if in possession and within valid statutory inspection
