The aim of this course is to give the participants the necessary skills through theoretical and practical training to evacuate themselves from a structure at height using a full body harness and rope-based descender device.

This course is suitable for those who need to be able to evacuate from height in an emergency, including from cranes, VNA Trucks, rooftops, platforms, towers or other similar structures.
Extensive practical scenarios build the individuals confidence in both the evacuation equipment and the process of evacuation itself.
This course can be delivered on site, providing minimum theory and practical facilities are available, or at the HART training facility in Kent.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
- Understand and explain the importance of emergency plans for work at height, including the potential dangers of suspension in a harness
- Identify a safe place and system for personal evacuation from height.
- Recognise hazards and potentially dangerous situations whilst carrying out personal evacuation from height.
- Understand the importance of inspection, care and maintenance of evacuation equipment.
- Select pre-use inspect, set up and use a personal evacuation system
Participants Will Receive:
- Certificate lasting 2 years
- Direct support from the Guardian training team and Guardian Fall customer service
Important Information:
Health:
All personnel participating in Safety Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. Delegates will be required to sign a statement stating that they are medically fit to participate in safety training and that they do not suffer from any medical illness or are under the influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol.
Equipment:
- Suitable clothing for outdoor training at height
- Safety Boots
- Helmet
- Gloves
- Any work at height PPE if in possession and within valid statutory inspection, where training is carried out on customer equipment
