With a concrete pour deadline fast approaching, Guardian was tasked with delivering a wide range of modified, off-the-shelf solutions for the most urgent portions of the system and expediting custom products to help meet the client’s deadline. These included façade maintenance anchors (custom tie-back anchors), davit arms, intermittent stabilization anchors (ISAs) and fall arrest systems (horizontal lifelines) – almost the entire breadth of Guardian’s product line.
Joining the project mid-way through and taking over from a prior contractor presented challenges in terms of continuity and adapting to new ways of working. In addition, the site was in Canada – with cross-border shipping only truncating the timeframes further.
Despite pushing everything through as quickly as possible, there was a delay in getting the review back from the building owner – which meant pivoting the design at the final moment to allow for an alternate embed method, so the team could embed the base plates into the concrete prior to the rest of the product being delivered on the site.
Working under pressure and to extremely tight timeframes, Guardian was able to expedite engineering and custom product at site, to successfully deliver a solution that met the client’s deadlines.
A construction client was faced with an impending concrete pour but, at the last minute, had been let down by a contractor who was unable to deliver an adequate solution. Guardian stepped in and took on the challenge of expediting engineering and delivering a wide range of custom products at site in order to complete the install on time.
Talk to an expertThis complicated project involved supplying custom product across the whole breadth of Guardian’s product lines and shipping it across the border to Canada. Despite unforeseen obstacles along the way – including pivoting the design at the last minute to allow for an alternate embed method – the project was successfully delivered on time.
