An advanced version of our 2-day inspection course designed to meet the moral and legal obligation regarding the detailed examination of Personal Fall Protection Equipment (PFPE) with the addition of more technical height safety and rescue equipment, including rope access PPE.

This syllabus is designed to give delegates the skills and knowledge to inspect Category III PPE Personal Fall Protection Equipment and to manage its storage and maintenance.
A combination of theory and practical workshops ensures that delegates understand the implications of damage found on PFPE and how to identify this damage through detailed inspections.
This course can be delivered on site, providing minimum theory and practical facilities are available, or at the Guardian training facility in Kent.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course delegates will be able to:
- Understand the general Health & Safety duties of employers and employees in the workplace
- Understand and explain the relevant parts of the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and other legislation and guidance related to work at height equipment and inspection
- Understand and explain the fundamental principles of fall protection, including the ‘hierarchy of controls’
- Understand and explain what a full body harness is, its components, uses and typical wear and damage
- Understand and explain what a restraint system is, its components, uses and typical wear and damage
- Understand and explain what a fall arrest system is, its components, uses and typical wear and damage
- Understand and explain what a work positioning system is, its components, uses and typical wear and damage
- Understand and explain the importance of inspection, care and maintenance of fall protection equipment
- Demonstrate how to carry out inspections of Category III PPE Personal Fall Protection Equipment and explain its storage and maintenance requirements
Participants Will Receive:
- Certificate lasting 3 years
- Direct support from the Guardian training team and Guardian Fall customer service
Important Information:
Health:
All personnel participating in Safety Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. Delegates will be required to sign a statement stating that they are medically fit to participate in safety training and that they do not suffer from any medical illness or are under the influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol.
