Our GWO Work at Heights course is carried out at our training facility in Kent in the Southeast of the UK, fully accredited by the Global Wind Organisation as one of the 5 modules of the Basic Safety Training Standard (BST) and taught by expert instructors with experience in the industry.

The aim of this course is to give the participants the necessary basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training to use basic PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and perform safe work at heights and safe and comprehensive basic rescue from heights in a remote wind turbine environment.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course delegates will be able to demonstrate:
- Knowledge of hazards and risks associated with working at height specific to a wind turbine generator
- Understanding of current national legislation regarding working at heights
- Correct identification of PPE, including identification of European/Global standard markings
- The knowledge and skills to correctly inspect, service, store, and correctly fit relevant PPE
- Correct use of the relevant PPE, e.g., harnesses fall arrest lanyards, guided type fall arresters and work positioning lanyards. This includes correct identification of anchor points and correct conduct on ladder
- Correct use of evacuation devices
- How to approach rescue situations in WTGs (Wind Turbine Generator) and use rescue equipment efficiently
Participants Will Receive:
- Certificate lasting 2 years
- Direct support from the Guardian training team and Guardian Fall customer service
Important Information:
Health:
All personnel participating in GWO Basic Safety Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. Delegates will be required to sign a statement stating that they are medically fit to participate in safety training and that they do not suffer from any medical illness or are under the influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol
