Our GWO Fire Awareness course is carried out at our training facility in Kent in the Southeast of the UK, fully accredited by the Global Wind Organisation as one of the 5 modules of the Basic Safety Training Standard (BST) and taught by expert instructors with experience in the industry.

The aim of this course is to give the participants the basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training to prevent fires, conduct initial and appropriate judgement when evaluating a fire, manage evacuation of personnel to ensure all are safely evacuated and accounted for in the event of an unmanageable fire and, if it is judged to be safe, to efficiently extinguish an initial fire by using basic handheld firefighting equipment.

All personnel participating in GWO Basic Safety Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. Delegates will be required to sign a statement stating that they are medically fit to participate in safety training and that they do not suffer from any medical illness or are under the influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol.
