A course designed to provide the individual with the skills and confidence to rescue fellow workers from height. Whether a worker has fallen and is left in suspension or has become incapacitated in an area of limited access at height, the successful completion of this course offers solutions to these situations, ensuring both moral and legal compliance is met.

To provide individuals already training in Work at Height with theoretical and practical skills and confidence to rescue fellow workers, using rescue devices, component systems and deviation systems. Successful delegates will be able to support employers in the development and practical application of rescue plans, providing work locations with effective rescue solutions, ensuring moral and legal compliance.

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand and explain the importance of emergency and rescue plans for work at height, including the potential dangers of suspension in a harness.
  • Identify suitable rescue solutions, including appropriate equipment.
  • Complete a dynamic risk assessment during a rescue.
  • Understand the importance of inspection, care and maintenance of rescue equipment.
  • Select, pre-use inspect, set up and use a rescue system.
  • Rescue a casualty in suspension following a fall.
  • Rescue a casualty incapacitated at height from sudden sickness or injury
  • Care for a casualty and ‘package’ into a stretcher
  • Control stretcher lowers.
  • Understand when, and how, to use slack cableways and tag lines to deviate casualty descents away from the vertical.

Participants Will Receive:

  • Certificate lasting 2 years
  • Direct support from the Guardian training team and Guardian Fall customer service

Important Information:

Health:

All personnel participating in Safety Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. Delegates will be required to sign a statement stating that they are medically fit to participate in safety training and that they do not suffer from any medical illness or are under the influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol.
