Our GWO First Aid Refresher course is carried out at our training facility in Kent in the Southeast of the UK, fully accredited by the Global Wind Organization as one of the 5 modules of the Basic Safety Training Refresher Standard (BSTR) and taught by expert instructors with experience in the industry.

The aim of this BSTR First Aid Module is to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills from BST First Aid through theoretical and practical training so that Delegates can administer safe and effective First Aid in the wind industry in accordance with GWO BST/BSTR First Aid training.

Current valid certificate must be shown on arrival of the course booking to be eligible for a refresher course. 

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course delegates will be are able to:

  • Demonstrate understanding of the importance of safely and correctly carrying out First Aid in accordance with the legislative requirements of their geographic location and according to European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
  • Identify and explain normal function, normal signs and symptoms of serious and minor injuries and illness related to the human body
  • Demonstrate understanding and correct order of management in emergency situations in a wind turbine work environment
  • Demonstrate correct use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Demonstrate correct use of First Aid equipment in First Aid equipment in First Aid scenarios

Participants Will Receive:

  • Certificate lasting 2 years
  • Direct support from the Guardian training team and Guardian Fall customer service

Important Information:

Health:

All personnel participating in GWO Basic Safety Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. Delegates will be required to sign a statement stating that they are medically fit to participate in safety training and that they do not suffer from any medical illness or are under the influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol.
