EDU-201 Confined Space Awareness
Instructs participants in identifying and classifying confined spaces including those requiring permits. Also educates in hazards associated with these spaces and the entry procedures required by Federal OSHA 1910.146 or the representative state OSHA.

This course is conducted in a classroom.
The course gives a rundown of the OSHA regulations relating to confined space awareness including:
- Personnel requirements and duties
- Assessing the spaces for hazards
- Controlling hazards
- Atmospheric monitoring procedures and requirements
- Entry permits and entry procedures
- Lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures
- Training requirements and duties of Entrants, Attendants and Entry Supervisors
- Rescue team requirements
- Operations in the space including hot work, maintenance, cleaning, and rescue
Compliance:
Successful completion of EDU-210 Confined Space Awareness comes with the following certifications of accreditation.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion, the students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the following topics:
- Atmospheric monitoring of the confined space to determine if any dangerous atmospheric hazards are present (i.e., O2 levels, LEL levels, H2S levels, and CO levels at minimum)
- Procedures for ventilating a confined space based on volume of space and output of ventilation pump
- Personnel requirements and duties for Attendant, Entrant, and Entry Supervisor
- Assessment of confined spaces for hazards
- Lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures for entering a confined space
- Documentation required for confined space work: permit to work, site analysis, LOTO certifications, etc.
Participants will receive:
- Course completion wall certificate, wallet card, and hard hat sticker
- Extensive Confined Space knowledge and understanding
- Individual student materials
- Direct support from the Guardian training team and Guardian Fall customer service
