Why do I have to use a specially designed lanyard for extended free falls?
OSHA allows for users to exceed the six feet free fall level, which happens when attaching at foot level, as long as their system has the all of the following:
1. There is no other practical way to tie off overhead. Leaving foot level the best option.
2. Force on the body is less than 1,800 pounds.
3. The user will not hit any objects below them.
