This 1-day Guardian Fall Protection Powered Industrial Truck/Forklift Training course is designed for those individuals who will be or are currently operating forklifts as required by OSHA.

This course utilizes classroom, demonstration, and hands-on evaluation of the operator’s skills per the OSHA requirement listed in OSHA 1910.178. This course meets the Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training (ANSI Z490.1).


All students will participate in classroom, hands-on instruction, and student-performed exercises that will cover:
  • Details of OSHA 1910.178 - Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).
  • Best practices and safe operation of PIT.
  • Stability concerns.
  • Identification and understanding of the hazards associated with PIT operation.
  • Proper inspection of PIT’s.
  • Refueling/recharging requirements and safety.


At the completion of this course, participants will be able to demonstrate a proficiency in:

  • Understanding of the applicable OSHA PIT regulations.
  • Proper inspection and documentation of the equipment.
  • Knowledge of the safety concerns with operation.
  • Physical operation of the PIT.


Participants will receive:

  • Powered Industrial Truck Course completion wall certificate, photo wallet card.
  • Individual Fall Protection workbook and student materials.
  • Direct support from the F.I.R.S.T. Choice training team and Guardian Fall Protection.
